What is a QR Code?

A QR code (Quick Response code) is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned and read by smartphones and QR code readers. First designed in 1994 by Denso Wave for tracking automotive parts, QR codes have become ubiquitous in modern digital communication.

  • Contact Information - vCard format for adding contacts

Error Correction Levels
  • Low (7%) - Smallest QR code, suitable for clean environments
  • Medium (15%) - Good balance (recommended for most uses)
  • Quartile (25%) - Better durability for slightly damaged codes
  • High (30%) - Maximum recovery, larger code size
Tips:
  • Keep QR codes simple for faster scanning
  • Test QR codes with multiple devices before printing
  • Use high error correction for codes that may be damaged
  • Ensure sufficient contrast between foreground and background
  • Maintain adequate white space (quiet zone) around the QR code
  • For URLs, use a URL shortener to reduce QR code complexity
